Axis Group Yacht Design's Project "Helios"

Horacio Bozzo from the Italian Design and Engineering Company Axis Group Yacht Design  unveiled their latest design the other month at the 2012 Monaco Yacht Show. Helios as she is called is his new 88m (288 feet) concept design exclusively for the Benetti Design Innovation Project.

Helios represents the latest take on Horacio Bozzo's creative language: 'The aim of the project was to design a superyacht that in spite of her size still looks as a family yacht'.

She has clean, modern sleek exterior lines with an aggressive profile towards the bow giving a strong bold look. Massive superstructures have been avoided and plenty exterior spaces with relaxing areas are scattered throughout her six decks. One of her innovative features is the unusual location of the swimming platform stairs. The stairs have been shifted forward leaving an unobstructed balcony area right on the aft main deck.

She is an efficient full displacement Superyacht designed to accommodate 12+2 guests on board and 29 crew. Twin 3516B Caterpillar engines of 2525kw and controllable pitch propellers power her to achieve 18+ kts with a trans-pacific range of 6000nm.

  1. When you have to make a choice of boat accessories and marine electronics it’s always better that you start with procuring those items that are vital to your boats safety and proper operation.
