53m ZEN Launches

The beautiful modern day 53m (174ft) Phinisi Schooner inspired superyacht ZEN which we reviewed early last year was launched in August of this year for her new Hong Kong owners Global Adventure Group Ltd. A Phinisi Schooner is a traditional two masted Indonesian sailing vessel built by the Konjo tribe from South Sulawesi. The vessels were usually used for fishing, transportation and trading voyages.

'The ZEN will distinguish itself by offering a high quality experience throughout the vessel', says Pawel Marczak, director of Global Adventure Ltd. the Hong Kong company behind this project.

She was designed Zygmunt Choren a world famous Polish sailing yacht designer and her tropical inspired interior was designed by Aleksander i Sotyrys Pantopulos from Digital Effect Design Studio in Poland.

Her interior which features teak floors and dark sono rosewood for the walls which give that tropical feel. Throughout the yacht you will find ornaments, sculptures and carvings originating from Polynesian, Maori and Asian cultures. The ceilings are decorated with wooden tiles with 19th century maps carved on them, showing the need for adventure that ZEN craves.

She has the perfect mix of classic Phinisi lines and a luxury interior that would be right a home in any 5 star hotel. This mix gives her a bold yet graceful appearance, a dream yacht for the true explorer. She will be able to accommodate her guests in 5 guest staterooms and a two level owners suite with adjoining children's room.

ZEN is currently in Bali and will shortly begin her sailing adventure throughout South East Asia where she will be sailing mostly in Indonesian waters - Komodo Archipelago, Raja Ampat, Thailand, Myanmar and Andaman Islands as well.

'The real voyage of discovery is not seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes'
