Royal Huisman's Double Dart

The innovative Dart 80 concepts which both measure 80m (282ft) in length are a stunning collaboration between Royal Huisman and Andrew Winch Design. Both the motor and sail designed megayachts in the Dart concept range have been inspired by the marine world especially the arc of a leaping dolphin. The dolphins movement and gracefulness can be seen through exterior styling of both designs. The low seamless stern and beach decks will provide owner and guests the perfect connection to the surrounding waters.

Great focus has been placed on the design of a green and efficient megayacht that will consume less energy thus producing less, so in turn becoming more environmentally friendly. The benefits from this "Total Energy" approach includes programs to optimise weight, to reduce energy consumption and to extract, exclude or re-cycle waste heat. The use of microturbines and alternative energy generation techniques such as hydro-generators in place of traditional diesel generators, advanced energy storage and management systems.

The motor yacht is designed to be lightweight, with high performance and long range capabilities that use very advanced propulsion techniques that offer fuel efficiency, high manoeuvrability, lower emissions, and minimal noise and vibration. The main aft deck will have fold down balcony to allow uninterrupted views and a 5.5m (18ft) fresh water infinity pool. There will be a central staircase that will link the main deck to the upper deck which features a large upper salon with full length windows. The sailing yacht will feature a large spacious upper deck that will include a number of large oval sunbeds, jacuzzi and a pair of circular tables. The pilot house which is also on this deck has a large dinning area.
Both designs have a main deck including the main saloon and formal dining area along with a VIP or children's suite with full height windows. Forward of this is the full beam master suite with his and her bathroom/dressing rooms and large windows with spectacular views. Six guest cabins are situated on the lower deck, each with private bathroom and full length waterline windows providing that all important connection with the blue world outside. The lower deck includes a cinema, beach club, spa, and gym, all linked to the terraced aft deck and pool via a short staircase. We are really looking forward to seeing how the future progresses for both of the Dart concepts. Hats go off to Royal Huisman they have produced real beauties.
