Van Geest Design's 62m Support Yacht

It looks like there will be more competition in the support yacht market as Marimecs and Van Geest Design have joined forces with the NMC shipyard for the development of a new 62m (203ft) support yacht. YSV62 as she's been called has been designed for worldwide support of superyachts, both sail and motor yachts. She has an extensive main deck area of 300+ sqm which will have plenty of space for storage of tenders and toys which would take up too much space when stored on the main superyacht.

She is designed and styled to stand out as a modern workboat and not be mistaken for a "second" superyacht. She will be comfortable and sturdy with systems specified to commercial standards which are efficient to build and maintain. Her hull will be an efficient hull that's designed for low resistance, excellent seaworthiness and comfort at sea. Her interior layout is functional, liveable and spacious.

YSV62 has been developed for supporting superyachts between 85-160m (279-525ft) and can also have the option to have an ice reinforced hull to be able to operate in Arctic areas. Her main-deck can be used for storage but can also be dedicated to other needs, for example: a diving center (with a moonpool, deco-tank and diving workshop), fitness/spa area or accommodation for additional crew. The layout of the lower decks can be fully customised to the owner's requirements without affecting the basic layout of the vessel.
