YXT ONE Launch

Another type of megayacht support yacht entered the market earlier this week as YXT ONE was launched by Lynx Yachts in Zaandam, Holland. She is the first of a series of purpose built pocket support yachts. The "Yacht X Tender or YXT" series is aimed at acting as a support vessel to megayachts between 30m (98ft) and 70m (229ft).

At only 24m she can carry a host of toys and large tenders while freeing up space on the main yacht and eradicating the problems associated with towing. At anchor the YXT acts as a large beach club and depending on the custom configuration below decks she offers a sauna, spa, gym or extra accommodation for guests, staff or crew.

She is also an ideal support vessel for large sailing yachts often hampered by the lack of large tenders and space for recreational areas like spas, saunas and gyms. She was built in Holland by Lynx Yachts with naval architecture and designed by Diana Yacht Design. The possibilities for an owner to configure a YXT to his/her specific needs is huge.

Lynx Yachts is a young and dynamic shipyard. Following the successful delivery of Heliad II a 33m (108ft) Twin Screw Canoe Stern megayacht also designed by Diana Yacht Design. the team decided that the build had been such a pleasant experience for all involved that they should try to repeat itso soon after came the contract for YXT hull number one.

Inside The Finalist Heliad II

Heliad II
The megayacht "Heliad II" has recently been nominated as a finalist in the category Naval Architecture in the ShowBoat Design Awards that will take place on 24th February 2014 at Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Wattens, Austria.

She was launched in May 2013 and has a steel hull with an aluminum superstructure. The designers worked with the owners to transform their wishes into this practical megayacht with classic lines that provides a lot of luxury and comfort to her guests. She is a yacht that offers everything for an active but relaxing home away from home.

Bridge Lounge Area
Heliad II has been designed as a classic Diana Yacht and during her construction Diana yacht design worked closely together with the owners to refine the yacht’s style and features. Her flared bow and round stern are very recognisable in a Diana yacht design and give the yacht an elegant and timeless look. The designers challenged themselves to create a layout with 4 fully equipped decks, which isn’t often seen on a megayacht measuring only 34m (112ft) long.

The 8m (26ft) beam is quite large for a vessel her size, but greatly improves her seaworthiness and expands her interior space. Another feature never before seen on a 34m megayacht is the 5m tender, stowed inside the hull. It can be launched through a shell door on the starboard side using a sliding davit crane. A lot of thought also went into her engineering and construction.

Owners Suite
She is a great piece of engineering and we wish her all the best in the up coming ShowBoat Design Awards.

33.4m Heliad II Launched

The 33.4m (109ft) Heliad II was launched to the world last week after two years in production. She has a steel hull, an aluminium superstructure and was designed by Diana Yacht Design, with the build taking place Lynx Yachts. Heliad II was the yards first megayacht launched and we expect many more in the future to grace the waters of the world.

The owner and guest areas are spread across all four decks, with two double guest cabins and two VIP cabins situated aft on the lower deck. All cabins have their own private en-suite bathroom. The owner's suite is situated in the traditional place, forward on the main deck and includes a walk in wardrobe and private bathroom.

Her exterior styling is very smooth and sports classic dutch lines that give that old classic gentleman's yacht feel.

Tansu Yachts and Diana Design Combine on 34m "Only Now"

Tansu Yachts and Diana Yacht Design have teamed up together to design Only Now a 34m expedition style yacht. Diana Yacht Design will be the naval architects in this project and Tansu Yachts will be the exterior styling and the build yard. Tansu Yachts have built the recently sold Nomade which is 36m, slightly larger than Only Now.

Only Now is what you would call rough but modest and sturdy but elegant, and waiting to explore the world oceans. She has the same distinctive modern and angled beautiful exterior look that's seen on Nomade. This is a characteristic of the yachts produced by the Tansu yard. With her wooden hull and superstructure she can glide through the water at a maximum speed of 22kts.
