Amels Sell New Megayacht

The sale of the newest Amels megayacht which measures 55m (180ft) in length was orchestrated by Burgess in Monaco, the owners went for a 55m megayacht by the Dutch builder Amels with interiors customised to the owners wishes by designer Christian Liaigre. She will be delivered to her new owners in May 2015, a phenomenally quick delivery time for a megayacht of this size.

"In just 16 months, these owners will be enjoying a very personal yacht, clearly tailored to their own strong appreciation of artistry and refined lifestyle," commented Amels CEO Rob Luijendijk. "Across the industry we see delivery time as increasingly pivotal in owners decision making, and this new order brokered by Burgess confirms our leadership in this regard. Our trusted limited editions platform eliminates technical risk and allows the owners to focus on customising the fun parts and they know their megayacht will be delivered on time. We're so confident that, even while they're still reviewing design drawings, we'd encourage them to finalise their 2015 summer plans with this beautiful yacht."

The owners suite will feature a folding balcony, and the main saloon will also feature a port and starboard folding balcony, opening the inside up to the outside world. Other features onboard include a touch and go helideck and an extensive beach club that includes space for watertoys, a steam room and swimming platform with integrated stairs.

The owners selected the Paris based contemporary interior architect Christian Liaigre to create the interiors. This is the first time the international design house has worked on an Amels megayacht. Her exterior design is by award the winning British designer Tim Heywood. She will be able to accommodate up to 12 guests and reach a maximum speed of 15.5kts.
