85m Solandge At MYS 2014

This year's Monaco Yacht Show Lurssen will present their 85m (279ft) Solandge one of their newest megayacht's launch to date. She was delivered in October 2013 and is a family megayacht built for the pleasure of yachting. She also has the right characteristics for what it takes to become an iconic  and busy megayacht on the charter market. Solandge is engineered for self sufficiency during extended voyages on the high seas and well equipped for whatever mother nature may through at her.

The exterior designer Espen Oeino has given her exceptionally generous spaces despite her dimensions (length: 85.1m, beam: 13.8m). Her dark blue hull will give her a strong appearance docked at any of the world top marines and will defiantly turn heads, just what you need for today's charter market. Interior designer Aileen Rodriguez has created a luxurious atmosphere with classical and contemporary styling.

Viewings at this years Monaco Yacht Show will be by appointment only.

40S Hybrid

40S made her debut earlier this year at the Monaco Yacht Show and now she is on the market for sale. The S "Sport" in her name indicates the high performance of this superyacht. She is equipped with two diesel engines which will give a top speed of 23kts, with the ability to easily cruise at 18-20kts.

For those of you who didn't know she is also a "Hybrid" because of her green attitude and ability. She is able to offer a completely new way of yachting, more conscious and respectful in caring of the environment.

She is able to accommodate ten guests in five staterooms with the owner's suite and study located forward on the main deck, and she also accommodates seven crew members.

With plenty of deck spaces, various sunning and dining arrangements and zero speed stabilizers, the unique 40m (131ft) is RINA classed, LY2, Green Plus, Hybrid Propulsion and AUT CCS compliant. She is currently at Monaco's Port Hercule for showings, so if you are in the area be sure to head down an have a look at this beauty.

Alloy Yachts New PS46

Alloy Yachts in New Zealand have just released the first image of their new Briand design, PS46. The PS46 Briand designed performance sloop which measures 46m (151ft) was developed as a fully engineered turnkey project, but with a range of personalised options. She is ready to commence build immediately and is offered with a reduced build time, which is perfect to cater for owners looking for an individual build, but without the time and cost that a full custom boat usually demands. She also comes with an optional race/regatta upgrade package.

"Fully optimised, with all engineering design work complete, this exciting design offers our customers the quality and individuality of a custom build, at a fixed cost and without the time investment that a custom build often requires," said Tony Hambrook, Managing Director of Alloy Yachts.

She is a collaboration between Philippe Briand and Alloy Yachts that have worked so successfully in the past having worked together on the amazing 67.2m (220ft) Vertigo.

Feadship Unveil Royale Design

Earlier this week at the Monaco Yacht Show Feadship unveiled their highly anticipated future concept design "Royale". She is a true modern marvel of beauty and innovation, a megayacht ready for the 21st century. Feadships unveiling of their annual future concept design is some what of a tradition at the Monaco Yacht Show and are usually designed for the future generation of megayacht owners in mind. We are all pretty sure at Megayacht Global that the Royale concept will be snapped up pretty fast by a new owner.

The designers have given full rein to their imagination on the potential requirements of two specific hypothetical owners, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of Holland.

"Feadship Royale is not an official gift for their majesties, although we do hope they have fun exploring our thinking on their behalf," comments Farouk Nefzi, marketing & brand director at Feadship. "Feadship has built a number of stately superyachts for sovereigns from around the world. We also designed Piet Hein, a gift from the Dutch people to King Willem-Alexander’s grandmother Princess Juliana on the occasion of her marriage in 1937. It is fair to say that we are rather proud of this royal heritage."

"While recent builds such as Venus have already established our leading position in this highly specialised area, Feadship Royale deploys glass to an unprecedented degree," explains Tanno Weeda, one of the design team responsible. "Having a full-height glass superstructure is a challenging concept but we are convinced that it is now technically possible. As more and more glass is used on land-based projects, our sophisticated clients have the right to expect the same on their superyacht. Ovens of the size required to bend giant glass panels are now available, and Feadship has the design and construction expertise to ensure total safety at sea."

A major section of the magnificent interior apart from the large atrium and staircase is the owner's private apartment forward on the main deck featuring a lounge and four staterooms. The owners room in their private apartment is massive surrounded all by glass and spans over three stories.

What can be said about the new Feadship future concept for 2013? Not much as feadship like to keep it as a guessing game until its finally unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show later this month. One thing is that Feadship never cease to amaze with their new concepts. Amels 60m EVENT

The beautiful yet bizarre Amels 60m (197ft) 'EVENT' that was launched earlier this year will make her debut into the Superyacht world in September at the Monaco Yacht Show, after returning from her summer cruising in the Nordics. Laura Sessa worked closely with the owner to create an interior that complements the strong and very noticable exterior lines designed by Tim Heywood.

Amels managing director Rob Luijendijk said: " 'EVENT' is a benchmark in superyacht exterior design. She will definitely turn many heads, even in Monaco where there is so much competition for attention! She is an exciting yacht in all aspects - from her Laura Sessa interior to the many technical advances from Amels."

Benetti 55m "Ocean Paradise"

Benetti just released pictures of their recently launched 55m (180ft) "Ocean Paradise". She will make her anticipated debut at the Monaco Yacht Show 2013 that runs from the 25th - 28th of September. She is built in aluminium and steel on a tried and tested Benetti platform, yet she oozes innovation especially in the interior design and partitioning.

The owner, a dynamic young businessman from Singapore was always closely involved throughout the design and build phases. Minamilist, but never cold, and always connected to the sea were some of the guidelines given by the owner for the development of Ocean Paradise. The guidelines were followed with innovative features such as the combination of transparent and opaque materials to bring the outside in or create a contemporary look and feel inside.

There are four guest cabins that are all located on the lower deck, with access from a central hall that's connected to the main deck foyer. Each cabin has its own spacious bathroom and views of the sea are guaranteed by the large portholes. The owners master suite is located in the traditional place forward on the main deck and stretches across from port to starboard. It includes an expansive bathroom and side balcony areas seen in the picture below.

Light was also of primary importance when designing and constructing Ocean Paradise, as special attention was spent on gaining natural light by incorporating ample windows and a crystal skylight. Artificial light was added using temperature controlled colour lighting to match the natural light. With the importance of natural light you get a some what Zen like feeling and this is only increased as you will find a number of Zen gardens throughout her decks. This addition will create a relaxed and tranquil atmosphere for the owner and guests as they enjoy their home away from home.

Some other features include the oversize swimming pool with waterfalls on the upper deck, a gym, a mini bar with DJ set up. She is one to look out for at the Monaco Yacht Show in September.

Baltic 107 "INUKSHUK" Launched

Last week the German Frers designed, INUKSHUK which measures 32.64m (107ft) was successfully launched at the Baltic facility in Jakobstad in Finland. She is made to be a lightweight high performance sloop that will provide her new owner with fast, efficient and comfortable cruising.

She has a total displacement of 78232kg of which 31612kg is ballast. With this light weight displacement combined with the carbon spars and rigging package she is destined for only one thing "Performance". Her telescopic keel enables the draft to vary from 3.35m (11ft) to 4.85m (16ft) without interfering with the interior layout.   

Her interior styling was produced by Adam Lay who designed an ultra modern interior which combined the use of oak as the primary wood. She has an owners cabin forward moving the crew accommodation to the aft, which also leaves room for a VIP cabin just forward of the mast which is adjacent to the owners private study. Aft of the open plan saloon you will find two guest cabins and a dedicated childrens cabin to complete the accommodation.

The testing and sea trials will take place in Jakobstad during the summer after which she will make her way down to the Med where she will make her world premier at the Monaco Yacht Show in September.

Rossinavi Launch Param Jamuna IV

The Italian shipyard Rossinavi have successfully launched "Param Jamuna IV", their first 49m (161ft) aluminum tri-deck in their prince shark series. She is the second launch of the 2013 season for the yard and with her aggressive exterior lines designed by Enrico Gobbi she is sure to be a hit when the Mediterranean season kicks off for the summer.

She will be able to accommodate up to 12 guests in 5 double suites and 1 twin. Her two MTU 12V4000 engines will be able to power her to a speed of 23kts and at 10kts she will have a range of 3,500nm.

Param Jamuna IV will be delivered to her owner by the end of May and she will attend the Monaco Yacht Show in September.

Palmer Johnson SuperSport Series

First thoughts, this is a mean looking Superyacht that means business with her aggressively flared bow and predatory stance. The new Palmer Johnson SuperSport series was just launched during the recent Monaco Yacht Show with the 42m (138ft), 48m (157ft and seen above) and the larger 72m (236ft) models presented.

The first hull of the 48m SuperSport series has already been sold and is currently under construction with a delivery date scheduled in 2013. She will be an exciting yacht to see out on the water when she is launched.

She boasts all of the features of the new series with a top speed of 32kts, impressive efficiency at lower speeds and capable of crossing the Atlantic at a speed of 15kts. She will feature a main saloon with full length windows, a glass saloon and sky lounge on the upper deck, a beach club and fantastic aft decks that are designed for indoor/outdoor living. Her accommodation will consist of a full beam owners cabin forward on the main deck, two double and two twin cabins on the lower deck.

Heesen Present New Designs in Monaco

On September 19 in the Principality of Monaco, Heesen directors Fabio Ermetto and Hans Boerakker, together with Piet and Perry van Oossanen from Van Oossanen Naval Architects and Frank Laupman from Omega Architects gathered at the Yacht Club de Monaco to present the new Heesen range to the yachting community.

Fabio Ermetto, Director of Sales and Marketing said: 'Heesen is moving in a new direction. In fact, four new directions. And in doing so, we want to ensure that different means better. Our four concepts have advantages over every other yacht built at their size: 65m, 55m, 45m and 42m. New considerations are becoming a priority and innovative technology is required. Working with the most radical thinkers, these four yacht forms were developed to overcome seemingly opposing attributes: to go faster but use less fuel, to increase range and speed, to increase performance but reduce environmental impact, to enable uncompromised interior design without compromising performance.'

65m

 The 65m (213ft) FDHF Project Omnia was presented in 2010 at the YCM and right after it was sold to a Heesen repeat client. Researched by the world’s leading maritime engineers, the 65’s revolutionary fast displacement hull is the most efficient yet tested. This yacht has the highest power to weight ratio of any comparable yacht. Efficiency is the most important element for yachts of the future, for the very simple reason that it delivers something utterly remarkable: higher performance and lower running costs. The delivery of the largest Heesen to date is slated for June 2013.

55m

 The 55m (180ft) FDHF is the world’s first steel yacht over 50m with a fast displacement hull. She is the most fuel efficient yacht of her size and style available on the market. With an impressive sundeck of 110 square metres and a forward touch and go helipad of 70sqm, she offers a wide range of choices in her layout.

45m

 The Heesen 45m (148ft) is the only big sports yacht built in Holland, boasting Dutch quality, an aluminium hull and power that can deliver 30 kts. A staggering feat of naval architecture: 40m of deck space, 30m of interior space in a yacht of 45m overall. The Heesen 45m is the perfect combination of both power and style.

42m

 The 42m (138ft) FDHF equipped with Hull Vane® is the most dramatic advance in yachting: The first yacht that harnesses waves to produce power. Thanks to a special underwater wing developed by Van Oossanen Naval Architects, her efficiency is increased by an astonishing 35% for speeds up to 15.9kts. Cruising speed fuel consumption is reduced by 30% and she has a 4.000nm range, the longest of any 40m yacht. Reduced emissions means reduced environmental impact. The first Heesen 42m with Hull Vane was sold last May and is due for delivery in 2014.

Burgess Superyachts At The 2012 Monaco Yacht Show

Burgess yet again have a commanding presence at the Monaco Yacht Show 2012 with a massive range of Superyachts for sale to meet the tastes of every owner. One of the their star yachts at the show is the new 77m (252ft) Smeralda that was launched by Hanseatic Marine in Australia earlier this year, along with a host of pre owned yachts and the newly delivered Project 12 who are all looking for new/first time owners.

H2 Yacht Design's 110m 'Atlas'

Some words come to mind when looking at the new concept design by H2 Yacht Design & laurent Giles Superyacht Architecture; (Wow, Massive, Spectacular, Mind-blowing). The collaboration between between these two parties has seen the development of project Atlas, a modern motor Superyacht that utilises the efficiencies of sailing. With these gigantic sails she will exploit the obvious fuel saving and green benefits. When she uses both motor and sails she can cruise at a speed of 14kts, with a possible fuel saving of 40% to 60% along with and increase in range. Under motor alone she can reach a maximum speed of 18kts with a range of 8,000nm.

She will measure 110m (360ft) and comply of 5 decks which all blend perfectly to show smooth exterior lines. Will Atlas appeal to an owner looking to build one of the largest sailing yachts in the world? maybe the concept will sell at the Monaco Yacht Show this week, we will have to wait and find out.

Feadships 'Go' To Visit French Yacht Shows

The beautiful little 39m (128ft) Feadship G0, will be taking up residence in the French Rivera for the month of September as she attends the Cannes Boat Show and the Monaco Yacht Show. She has been acting as one of Feadships flagships in their charter fleet for the past year, but Feadship are now making her available for sale at a reduced price of €21.9 million Euro.

She has recently been given a new fresh interior layout by Sinot Yacht Design which gives her a modern natural feel. Prior to arriving in the French Rivera she had a 6 week tour of Brazil and visited the Caribbean island of Antigua. She has all the quality and distinct exterior styling of a larger Feadship, that has been condensed down into the perfect more manageable little Superyacht that she is.

She will be at anchor in the bay of Cannes during the Cannes Boat Show from 11th to 16th September (Vieux Port & Port Pierre Canto), where she is available for viewing by appointment only. Two days after the show she will pull into Monaco, where she will be berthed at E15 for the show which starts on the 19th and runs until the 22nd. Feadship's Future Concept

As with true Feadship tradition, the 2012 Feadship Future Concept will be unveiled on the opening morning of the Monaco Yacht Show. And, as was the case with predecessors such as X-Stream, F-Stream, Aeon, Breathe and Qi, the design takes a highly imaginative approach to the likely requirements and desires of the next generation of superyacht owners.

There is a slight twist in the 2012 Feadship Future Concept, she comes with a client. He is a man who is globally acknowledged as an unrivaled genius in his field, a leading individual who likes nothing more than to push the window of innovation and stretch the boundaries of the possible, finally he is a client able to combine theory with practice with effortless ease.

A great fan of sailing yachts who is now exploring the options for a motoryacht: A Feadship that will criss-cross the oceans, enabling him to explore the world.

'All Feadship owners are assured of maximum privacy and we cannot reveal the identity of this new potential client at this stage,' says Francis Vermeer, head of marketing at Feadship. 'However, there are strong rumours that he will attend the Monaco show in person. And as this man is also renowned for his enormous sense of humour, this promises to be a memorable occasion for all concerned.'

Feadship are teasing readers with the only image of the design below (your imagination will come in handy), so I guess we will have to wait until the Monaco Yacht Show that starts on the 19th and runs until the 22nd to find out more.

Acico Yachts Launch 49m 'Nassima'

Acico Yachts from Enkhuizen in the Netherlands have launched their newest Superyacht the streamlined 49m (160ft) Nassima. The launching operation took place on Friday the 20th of July when she was moved from her construction shed, she was finally launched into the water the following day.

She was built in aluminium and designed by dutch design studio Olivier van Meer, with her interior by Swiss designers VDP studio. Some of her main features include a massive stern garage to be able to house a car and two motorbikes, a gym and a floor to ceiling aquarium that separates the main saloon/lounge area from the aft deck. She also features a spacious sun deck for guests to enjoy.

She will be able to accommodate 12 guests and cruise at 14kts with a maximum speed of 18kts. She will be finished off over the next month and then make her maiden voyage around to Monaco where she will be presented at the Monaco Yacht Show.

She is currently for sale with a price tag of €29,500,000 through Bluewater Yachting.

Sunreef's New 85ft Power Design

Sunreef Yachts have just introduced their new design for the 85ft (26m) power which will be formally introduced during the Monaco Yacht Show in September. This modern design will bridge the gap between their successful 70ft range and their larger custom series, and will be another milestone in the world of luxury catamarans.

One thing that you can say about the ultra modern 85 is that she definitely has the WOW factor, and her design introduction will be a major hit at the Monaco Yacht Show. The main idea of this concept is to stress the large amount of space catamarans have compared to mono hulls of similar size. This means one huge deck spans the entire beam of the yacht and features a dining area, lounge areas and a saloon that all come together with the exterior aft deck to create a seamless open space. The spacious master cabin will be located forward on the main deck, just showing you the space this 85 has. The rest of the guest accommodation and crew quarters will be located on the lower decks in the hulls.

The flybridge will include the helm station and two lounging areas both inside and out, while the front outside deck includes a jacuzzi and sun pads. She will feature a beach club and swimming platform aft, which is an unusual feature to be seen on a catamaran due to the multi hull configuration. This platform will allow guests to relax at sea level while at anchor and will provide easy access to all the water toys and tender that will be stored on board.

She is a sleek modern sporty design that is sure to create a stir in the Superyacht industry when hull number 1 is launched in the future.

Trinity Yachts Deliver 187ft 'Lady Linda'

After her successful launch at the end of last year 2011, Trinity have just completed the handover/delivery of the 57m (187ft) Lady Linda to her new owners a couple from Florida. Since being delivered she has crossed the Atlantic for a summer of fun in the Mediterranean where she will also attended the Monaco Yacht Show in September.

The owners knew exactly what they wanted when they went to build their third Trinity and the most important features were that she needed to be built for docking behind their Florida residence and capable of handling the shallow waters of the Bahamas. Trinity accomplished the shallow water cruising with an expansive beam of 10.2m (33.4ft) that allowed for a 2.4m (8ft) draft. This will allow Lady Linda cruise in shallow waters, enter shallow berths, port and destinations which are generally unavailable to yachts of this size.

Her accommodation includes a full beam owners suite forward on the main deck which includes his and her showers and a full office. There are 4 guest cabins on the lower deck with great sea views in each cabin which are spacious, all en suite and are decorated with granite, marble and soft earthy colours, and all designed by interior designer Evan Marshall of London. There is also a gym behind the bridge that can be changed into a 5th guest cabin if needed to raise the number of guest accommodation to 12.

One unique feature to her design is the floor to ceiling doors on the sundeck to deflect the wind away from the guests, a first in design for Trinity. The sundeck also features a large bar and seating area, a hot tub, a touch and go helipad and a davit suitable for rescue tender, jet skis and water toys. There is plenty of space throughout the yacht for guest to relax and socialize, be it in the main saloon, sky lounge or out on the aft decks. If you are in the Med this summer keep a close lookout for her, currently she is anchored just off Cannes in the South of France.

Princess Yachts 40m Takes Maiden Voyage

The largest production yacht ever launched in Britain, with the largest resin-infused hull ever moulded, the new Princess 40M (131ft) has been making headlines ever since the Plymouth yacht builder announced plans for her some three years ago. Now, after a successful launch, commissioning and compliance to Class and Flag in Plymouth, hull No.1 Imperial Princess, is on her maiden voyage to the warmer waters of the Mediterranean.

She had to make a small pit stop in Jersey, Channel Islands where she was formally handed over to her owner by Chris Cleverly and Nigel James of Princess Motor Yacht Sales together with Chris Gates, Managing Director of Princess Yachts International. After the hand over was complete she was on her way south to the med where she made some light work of the large seas in the Bay of Biscay. After she reaches the Med she will be attending the Festival de la Plaisance in Cannes this September and a few days later the famous Monaco Yacht Show.

The owner of Imperial Princess has chosen the five cabin option with two VIP double cabins and two twin cabins all en suite, which are situated on the lower deck. These cabins will have large side windows that let in plenty of natural light. The fifth cabin is the owners full beam cabin which is forward on the main deck and is accessed through a versatile room which can be specified as an office, private TV room or a reading room to suit the owner’s personal requirements.


The main deck will include the main saloon, formal dining area, a professional galley which was designed to the exact brief of a professional chef and hydraulically folding balconies on both sides of the saloon. On the third deck there is an elegant sky lounge and an exterior dining area for private drinks and al fresco dining. A curved stairway leads up to the sun deck complete with bar, seating, sunbathing and a jacuzzi.

Her interior was designed by Princess in collaboration with the London studio of Bannenberg & Rowell. Her interior will have a variety of different woods, granites, stones, and fabrics to give a classic look of contrasting tones, textures and surfaces.

Hull No.2 is already progressing well and hull No.3 has just completed her infusion. Each will be completely individual as within the parameters of the structure, with the owners able to construct the yacht of their dreams. No two yachts will ever be the same.

SeaAxe 67m 'Garcon' To Attend The Monaco Yacht Show

The sleek axe bowed 67m SeaAxe yacht 'Garcon' will be attending the 2012 Monaco Yacht Show in September. She was constructed at Damen Shipyards in Holland, and the project was coordinated by Moran Yachts & Ship.

The SeaAxe 6711 is a fast yacht support vessel that has 235m2 of deck space for toys such as tenders, jet skis, sailing dinghies, helicopters, submarines, sea planes and what ever other toys the owner wants to bring on voyages around the world. The helipad is fully SOLAS certified and has a 5000kg take off weight for commercial use. The yachts design can be altered slightly, with an optional hanger to cover the toys from the worst of the elements.

With its unique axe bow and underwater shape she will be able to reach speeds of 18-25kts in all weather and sea conditions. Even though she is a support vessel to carry toys and cargo for the owner don't let that fool you, she will have an interior that is of Superyacht standard.

The SeaAxe range has already proven successful with the 37m and 50m models that are already active for their Superyacht owners, and a second 6711 model is currently under construction. For more information visit www.amels-holland.com
