On Saturday the 23rd of June the Italian shipyard Viareggio Superyachts pre-launched their 72m (236ft) flagship 'Stella Maris'. The success of their two previous 62m (203ft) yachts Candyscape II and RoMa catapulted VSY on to the international stage of Superyacht builders, and the stunning Stella Maris will take them even further in the industry.
Managing Director of VSY, Luciano Scaramuccia, crowns Stella Maris as the most important yacht of this size built in Viareggio over the last 30 years. The pre-launch event was celebrated with the workers, local authorities and bodies, all of whom have collaborated with VSY over many months to make this amazing Superyacht come to life. She now stands in the large square in front of the shipyard, illuminated in with multi-coloured lights at night for all to admire.
She will remain there for a few weeks to complete the final preparations for her transfer on a floating pontoon to the Arsenal in La Spezia where she will finally be splashed at the official launch. After this, she will cruise the Med with her excited owner until September when she will attend the Monaco Boat Show. She is sure to be the main attraction at the show.
