Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS)

The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is widely know to be the wolds biggest in the water yacht show and runs from the 27th - 31st October for its 52nd time. There will be old and new yachts at the show with a number of them making their debut into the world of Mega Yachts.
One Mega Yacht that is bee talked about is the 240ft Delta Laurel that was launched 5 years ago but is been shown for the very first time. She just left the Med 2 weeks ago on her delivery across the Atlantic for the show ( see pictures of her at the dock in Valencia Spain below). Her exterior design was the work of the in house delta design group and the interior was designed by the renowned Donald Starkey.

These are just to name a few, so if you are in the area head down to the show and have a look, some people say its the greatest show on earth.

Laurel 240ft Delta, Valencia Spain

New launch by Eurocraft Yard in Italy

Thanks to Boat International for this picture of the newly launched Baron Trenck 142ft. She was launched by the Italian shipyard Eurocraft this week. She is the latest expedition style hull to hit the water in the world of Mega Yachts.
Not much is known about this yacht yet but she can accommodate 10 guests in a master suite on the main deck, two doubles and two twin staterooms on the lower deck. She will have a top speed of 14kts and a cruising speed of 12kts.

By first glance at the yacht it looks like three different yachts in one with the layout and difference in the style of windows, kind of like it was patched together. It is probably a yacht that you will either like or hate. Its big bow (like the bow on Andrea the Delta 126ft expedition style yacht) will surely get some use if the owner who purchases it has in mind of exploring the cold places of the world. She is currently up for sale for 16.3 million Euro on the boat international web site by Ocean Independence.
