Heesen Launch The Bizarre 50m "Crazy Me"

Heesen Yachts have launched the one off Gary Grant designed 50m (164ft) named Crazy Me. She is an all aluminium semi-displacement and was christened at a private ceremony that took place at the Heesen yard in Oss.

She has to be one of the strangest megayachts launched over the last couple of years and definitely wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea. She will turn peoples heads in every marina and port she enters but not for her beautiful exterior lines and elegance but for her strange, bizarre and some what un-pleasing exterior styling.

Gary Grant designed her exterior while the Italian designer Christiano Gatto designed the more elegant contemporary interior which provides great interior volume. One of her most fascinating features is located on the sun deck that houses a huge custom glass bottomed pool which allows light to shimmer down to the aft seating area below on the main deck.

The owner's Representative Alex Banning of Superyachts Monaco comments "the owner has noticed, respects and is highly appreciative of the general excellence Heesen have accomplished in executing Crazy Me's highly complex technical aspects which have been extremely demanding and challenging. One of the most distinctive yachts ever delivered in Northern Europe is a true testament to the Owner's inspiration and Heesen's quality and skills as a Superyacht Builder of true pedigree."

She will be delivered to her owner in June after she completes her sea trials.

  2. Me thinks this looks remarkably like Adler, which was launched back in 2004, a 136' design by the same designer!!
