Blohm+Voss Launch 82m "Graceful"
Blohm+Voss have been very busy over the last couple of weeks with the launch of their new concept designs, which were in collaboration with renowned designer Zaha Hadid and now the launch of their newest megayacht, the 82m (269ft) project "Graceful". On the 25th of October she left her building dock and will now be prepared for sea trials which will start in December. The new owner will be receiving the perfect Christmas present as she is scheduled to be delivered at the end of December.
On May 18, 2012, she was towed by tugs to Blohm+Voss and docked in Dock 6 at the Hamburg based shipyard to be completed and fitted out. Over the last 18 months, project Graceful designed by H2 Yacht Design has been fitted out both inside and out by Blohm+Voss in close cooperation with both the owner and Dorries Maritime Services.
The owner decided to have the yacht completed by Blohm+Voss due to the unique and complex equipment and design features, one of which is a 15 x 3m indoor pool which can be converted to a dance floor by raising the pool floor. She also incorporates a separate owner's area with a duplex suite and direct access to the sea via a folding balcony, two VIP and three guest suites for a further 10 guests.

H2 Yacht Design's 110m 'Atlas'
Some words come to mind when looking at the new concept design by H2 Yacht Design & laurent Giles Superyacht Architecture; (Wow, Massive, Spectacular, Mind-blowing). The collaboration between between these two parties has seen the development of project Atlas, a modern motor Superyacht that utilises the efficiencies of sailing. With these gigantic sails she will exploit the obvious fuel saving and green benefits. When she uses both motor and sails she can cruise at a speed of 14kts, with a possible fuel saving of 40% to 60% along with and increase in range. Under motor alone she can reach a maximum speed of 18kts with a range of 8,000nm.She will measure 110m (360ft) and comply of 5 decks which all blend perfectly to show smooth exterior lines. Will Atlas appeal to an owner looking to build one of the largest sailing yachts in the world? maybe the concept will sell at the Monaco Yacht Show this week, we will have to wait and find out.
