Lurssen's Ester III on Sea Trials

Ester III also known as "Project Green" has successfully finished her sea trials in the Baltic Sea under perfect weather conditions. Her final delivery is planned for the autumn of this year.

Espen Oeino gave Ester III a very noticable and masculine appearance, under clear directions from the owner. Her white and grey paint job and her vertical bow along with her angled lines give her that strong character. She has a length of 66m (216ft), a beam of 11.90m (39ft) and can accommodate all of the owner's requirements including a large pool on the main deck and a helicopter pad on the sun deck.

Her interior, which is still being installed, is designed by Reymond Langton.

Alloy Yachts Launch "Mondango 3"

On Thursday morning the 5th of December the Alloy Yachts launched crew the 56.4m (185ft) "Mondango 3" into the water in Auckland, New Zealand.

She is a 56.4m ketch designed by Dubois Naval Architects. Some of her main features include a swing down centerboard, twin sub-deck tender wells, and aft deck spa pool (wow on a yacht). She has 5 cabins to accommodate up to 11 guests. The interior design was developed by the London based studio Reymond Langton Design and her rigs were built by New Zealand based Southern Spars with her sails supplied by North.

Mondango 3 will be handed over to her owner in late February 2014 but post handover she will be available for charter through Burgess Yachts.

Breaking News: Megayacht Kismet Sold

Moran Yacht & Ship have announced the largest brokerage sale of 2013, the sale of the iconic 68m (223ft) Lurssen Kismet. She was designed by renowned designer Espen Oeino and launched in 2007. Her interior has an art deco inspired theme which was designed by Reymond Langton Design and she is able to accommodate 12 guests in 1 master cabin, 1 VIP cabin and 4 double cabins.

Kismet's construction was overseen by Moran Yacht & Ship new construction team, remains one of the finest yachts afloat today and will be replaced in the Moran Yacht & Ship charter fleet by the new 94m (308ft) Kismet 2 which will be available to select clients in 2014.

Lurssen Splash Project Orchid

 
On the 11th September 2013 Lurssen launched project "Orchid" in the traditional fashion: down the slipway! Her delivery is scheduled for 2015.

Reymond Langton Design has worked extremely hard with project Orchid giving her the perfect balance inside and out and with a length of 91m (298ft) and a beam of 14.45m (47ft) she boasts extraordinary volumes. She will be able to accommodate all of the owner's requirements whilst still maintaining sleek and very elegant lines. The interior can best be described as contemporary modern. Among the special features are a huge beach club and spa area on the lower deck and two guest cabins with sea terraces.

Hakvoort Deliver Apostrophe

The Hakvoort shipyard in Holland have just delivered the 40m (131ft) Apostrophe. She was fully custom built with the owner working closely with Hakvoort and Reymond Langton Design who were responsible for her smooth exterior lines and her art deco interior. She will now embark on her maiden voyage to Norway where her owner will cruise the fjords for the summer months before heading back down to the Med to take her place at the Monaco Yacht Show in September.

Apostrophe is the owners first megayacht built by Hakvoort but he is an experienced megayacht owner. At the keel laying ceremony three years ago he had described the project as his "baby" and said he was going to push himself to the limit make this one of the best megayachts on the water today.

"He was certainly true to his word," explains project manager Alexander Speksnijder. "Every suggestion made by the interior and exterior designer was accepted regardless of cost, and there have been no compromises in any area of the boat. Looking back at the early renderings of the exterior colour scheme and the glass art aspects of the interior, it is extraordinary how Apostrophe has turned out to be everything the owner intended."

Her smooth exterior lines and large curved windows in the owner's area on the main deck and similar in the sky lounge above make you look twice at her thinking she has to be larger than 40m, surely. She has a magnificent open stairwell and custom designed chandelier that awaits guests as they enter through her main entrance. She will be able to accommodate 10 guests in 5 cabins which include the owner's master suite forward on the main deck and 4 guest cabins on the lower deck.

Hakvoort Launch Their Newest Megayacht "Apostrophe"

The Hakvoort shipyard in the Netherlands launched Apostrophe at the weekend on Saturday the 13th, the newest addition to their ever growing fleet of megayachts. She measures 40m (131ft) in length and was fully custom built with the owner working closely with Hakvoort and Reymond Langton Design who were responsible for her smooth exterior lines and her art deco interior.

A Russian Orthodox priest blessed Apostrophe in a ceremony which took place on Saturday at the Hakvoort yard and was attended by the owner, his guests and the Hakvoort staff responsible for her construction. This is the owners first megayacht built by Hakvoort but he is an experienced megayacht owner. During the launch ceremony, both the yard and the owner spoke openly about how the project had required everyone to pull together in a tough economic climate. "When we first signed the contract for Apostrophe five years ago we were living in a very different world," said Klaas Hakvoort, co-director of the family run shipyard. "Soon afterwards the recession began to bite and the usually cooperative banks refused to finance the construction. The owner’s business was also facing challenges and, together with the brokers Moran Yacht and Ship, whose contribution has been way beyond the norm, we came up with a unique solution. The fact that Apostrophe has already so successfully battled her first storm makes us all the more proud that she is one of the finest yachts ever launched by Hakvoort."

The Mighty Kismet

The mighty Kismet is set to take central stage at the Palm Beach International Boat Show which runs from March 21st - 24th, she will be the largest megayacht ever to be on display at the show.

She was built in 2007 by the Lurssen and measures 68m (223ft) in length. Her modern exterior lines were designed by Espen Oeino and her art deco inspired interior styling was from the creative minds of Reymond Langton Design. She can accommodate 12 guests comfortably in one master suite, one VIP suite and four guest cabins.

She is currently on sale for €79 million down from €85 million and if you are attending the show next week be sure to pay her a visit, she is quite an amazing megayacht. 

The New Hakvoort In Build YN247 'Apostrophe'

Apostrophe, build name YN247 is the new 39.7m (130.25ft) that is currently in build by renowned Dutch shipyard Hakvoort. She will be able to accommodate 10 guest including the owner in 4 en suite double guest cabins on the lower deck and a full beam owners stateroom forward on the main deck which also includes a private study. The tender will be stored in a custom aft garage behind the engine room. A fold out swimming platform will be intergrated into the stern so guests can take a quick dip on those hot days.

The naval architecture, construction and engineering design for Apostrophe will be by Diana Yacht Design, who have been asked to optimise technical accessibility and keep the maintenance requirements to a minimum. Reymond Langton will be responsible for both the interior and exterior styling. The interior styling can be seen in the below images of the main saloon and the owners stateroom. They have got the balance between the dark woods and soft colors spot on creating a modern homely interior.

She has a scheduled launching date for December 2012.

Price Reduction for 51.7M Mondango

Dubois Yacht Ltd have announced that the owners of the 51.7m (170ft) Mondango are ready to conclude the sale and have reduced the asking price to €27.9m with immediate effect. Mondango has been immaculately maintained since her launch in 2008 and is offered in pristine condition.

New Build For Alloy Yachts "Mondango II"

Alloy Yachts in New Zealand have again been chosen to construct the successor yacht to the current 169ft Mondango which was launched in 2008. The new yacht will slightly bigger in length at 185ft and will be called Mondango II when it is launched in 2013. Currently her project name is AY46 at the yard.

The owners have again brought together the same team that designed their previous yacht. The interior will be designed by Reymond Langton and the exterior will be designed by the renowned Dubois Naval Architects.

She will be able to accommodate 11 guests in 5 cabins 3 double cabins, 2 twin cabins one with a pullman berth all ensuite and a crew of 10 in 6 ensuite cabins. Her max speed under motor will be 14kts with a cruising speed of 12kts and she will have a range of 6,500nm at a speed of 10kts. Some of her unique features will be a swing down centerboard to keep the draft at 4m, Twin sub-deck tender wells and an aft deck spa pool.

Herb Chambers New Mega Yacht "Excellence V"

The new launch by Abeking & Rasmussen, the 200ft Excellence V commissioned and owned by happy owner Herb Chambers the New England car dealership entrepreneur. Excellence V is a down size from his old yacht Excellence IV 258ft which has been sold to a new owner. The main reason for this was that he didn't think he needed such a big Mega Yacht and also with his new one he can get into his favorite ports.

She has interior and exterior designs by the London based design office Reymond Langton Design. Rich and dark woods will line the walls and large deep windows will let in more natural light into the main saloon area. Some of her main features will be a spa, gym, sauna and a private deck for Chambers which also includes his own saloon and for sure the aft garage will be full with lots of water toys. She will be able to accommodate 14 guests and have a crew of 18.
