The Amels 65m 'Sea Rhapsody' Gets Musical Christening

On Friday the 20th of April 2012 the 65m (213ft) Amels 'Sea Rhapsody' was christened and delivered to her owners in a magnificent ceremony that was attended by more than 600 people. Tim Heywood who drew the exterior lines and Andrew Winch who designed the interior also attended the event, and Tim's external lines stood out beautifully as the different coloured beams of light reflected off the yacht.

The guests at the event were all treated to a video on a big screen, which detailed the building process. Then Sea Rhapsody was serenaded by a choir on her fore deck, accompanied by a live orchestra, a great spectacle for all to see.

Amels managing director Rob Luijendijk said 'Sea Rhapsody is a unique piece of art, she looks stunning and we're very proud of this project. We thank the owners for their trust in Amels.' Representing the owners, Nicholas Dean of Ocean Independence said: 'The owners cannot wait for their first family cruise and truly enjoyed the building process.'

Sea Rhapsody's interior designed by Andrew Winch shows the owners love for Asia by creating a soft and harmonious decorative scheme inspired by Asian style.
