Perini Navi Launch 2nd 60m Sloop "Perseus3"

The Perini Navi Group have launched "Perseus3" the second superyacht in their new generation 60m (197ft) series, at their Viareggio shipyard. This series has sleek innovative hull lines and on board technology.

Perseus3 is designed by Perini Navi naval architects in collaboration with legendary New Zealander Ron Holland. She has a Perini Navi sail control system and a lifting keel whose draft varies from 4.30m to 12.30m. Her 75m (246ft) mast and 23m boom are in carbon fibre as well as her standing rigging. She is also the first Perini Navi superyacht to have a carbon fibre bowsprit. The bowsprit was a request of the owner's that will allow for fast sail changes and a larger sail plan. The impressive sail set includes: 2 Gennakers, 1 Code 0, 1 Reacher, 1 Blade, 1 Spinnaker Stay Sail, 1 working Jib and an imposing Main Sail for a combined area of 10.000 sqm.

She has an innovative deck layout with six winches for fast tacking and easy handling of halyards and lines. The jib is manoeuvred using the newest generation of captive winches with a pulling load of 35t and a speed of 110m per minute. She also has two rudders for top performance and agile manoeuvring. It looks like she is set up for some serious racing on the superyacht circuit.

Her hull and superstructure are built in aluminium were constructed at the Perini Navi Yildiz shipyard in Turkey and give her less than 500 GT and a displacement of 570 tons. Her interiors were designed in house by Perini architects and can accommodate twelve guests in five cabins, one of which has sliding beds. The owner's suite is full beam and can be divided by a removable wall. Some of her other features include two 6.20m carbon fibre custom tenders, two opening beach platforms and an infinity pool on the fore deck.

The third superyacht in this series is scheduled to be delivered in 2015.

Perini Navi Sell 3rd 60m

Perini Navi this week announced the sale of the 3rd superyacht in their 60m (197ft) series. She will be a ketch as seen in the above image and have the project hull number C.2232. The contract was recently signed with the collaboration of Fraser Yachts.

Her interior, for the first time, will see the collaboration between Perini Navi and the Italian Architect Michela Reverberi whose elegant design style will complete the innovative interior design. Following on from the recently delivered "Seahawk" and the soon to be launched sloop "Perseus 3", C. 2232 has a sleek hull and superstructure in aluminum with a gross tonnage of under 500 GT and displacement of approx 570 tonnes. At her racing debut in the recent St. Barths Bucket, Seahawk’s performance amply exceeded her predicted performances, much to the joy of her new owners.

C.2232 is created by Perini Navi Design Team whose naval architecture is enhanced by the collaboration with Ron Holland and her two Panamax aluminum masts, which will be dressed with carbon fiber rigging, booms and spreaders. She will have a performance oriented centerboard keel which will give her accessibility to shallow waters.

Her delivery is scheduled for 2016.

Perini Navi Debuts in Singapore with 50m "Exuma"

The Perini Navi Group will be present for the first time at the Singapore Yacht Show with their 50m (164ft) M/Y Exuma, the first Picchiotti megayacht from their Vitruvius series. The Yacht Show, which is in its fourth year will be held from April 10th to 13th at the ONE 15 Marina Club, Sentosa Cove in Singapore.

Exuma, was created through a collaboration between the Perini Navi Group, Vitruvius Ltd and French naval architect Philippe Briand. She was designed for maximum efficiency and for navigating in the globe to uncover the earths best kept secrets. Her sleek aluminium hull allows for a GT of 497 tons and a full load displacement of 400 tons. Her draft is just 2.3m so that she can enter shallow waters and her range is 6,500nm at 12kts.

Since her delivery in 2010, Exuma has embarked on a round the world tour leaving her Mediterranean home port, crossing the Atlantic and touring the Caribbean and from there off to the Pacific Ocean where to date she has navigated for approximately 44,444 nautical miles.

She is widely recognised as one of the best megayachts of her time and has won a variety of international awards such as motor yacht of the Year and Best Displacement motor yacht below 500 GT. She has also been awarded the Rina Green plus Platinum certification, considered to be the highest recognition for respect of the environment. The list goes on as she also won most innovative yacht of the Year at the 2010 World Yacht Trophy and "Asia-based Charter Yacht of the Year 2012" at the Asia Pacific Awards 2012. Now that is a world class resume!

73m "M/Y Grace E" Completes Sea Trials

Grace E, the new 73m (240ft) Picchiotti megayacht which is the third megayacht of the Vitruvius series sold by Perini Navi Group, has just completed her sea trials and has achieved excellent results in all of the tests: range, maximum speed, fuel and power consumption, Dynamic Positioning system. Her quietness and lack of vibration have especially pleased all the technicians that were aboard during the testing.

Grace E has a different diesel-electric propulsion system compared to her predecessors Exuma and Galileo G, an advanced system that runs on two Azipods, electronically activated propellers mounted on a guidable support. Yacht captain Eddie Cooney commented:

"Recent sea trials have confirmed that the use of electrical Azipods for the propulsion of Grace E has made for exceptional quietness and comfort while navigating. This result is due to the fact that the yacht does not have traditional shafts but a system that does not create propeller noise. There is little evidence that the boat is underway unless you are looking out the windows and actually witnessing the changing landscape. We expect that this will be a very much appreciated asset to guests cruising aboard."

Tests on her Dynamic Positioning system have confirmed that the yacht can maintain her position on the water even in rough conditions. She is ideal for cruising on the high seas and her exterior spaces spread over a magnificent five decks. The upper deck, or wellness deck, is entirely dedicated to care of the person and wellness with a gym, sauna and hydrotherapy equipment. Her interiors that are elegant, strong and contemporary were designed by renowned designer Remi Tessier.

"Seahawk" Wins at Showboats Design Awards

"Seahawk", the first superyacht in the Perini Navi 60m (197ft) series, won the holistic design award that was presented during the Showboats Design Awards 2014 ceremony hosted by Boat International at the elegant Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Wattens, Austria last week.

The holistic design award is awarded yearly to the superyacht that represents "the finest example of a harmonious combination of interior and exterior design." The jury of experts saw that Seahawk had the perfect combination amongst spaces, functionality, practicality and innovation.

Seahawk has innovative hull lines to guarantee speed and performance while under sail. These are combined with even comfortable interior volumes that make this first superyacht in the new generation Perini Navi series really stand out. She has new and improved furlers designed by the Perini Navi Mast department and new winches that are faster to manoeuvre and more powerful than ever before on a Perini. The interiors, which are contemporary in style with maritime influence were designed by the French designer Christian Liaigre.

She is also a finalist in the Sailing Yacht 40m+ (131ft) size range category at the ninth edition of the Boat International World Superyacht Awards that will be held in Amsterdam on May 3rd. Another Perini "State of Grace", the first superyacht in the new Perini 40m Fast Cruising series is also a finalist, this time in the Sailing Yacht in 30m to 40m size range.

S/Y P2 Is To Have A Sister

The Perini Navi Group has closed the contract on the second yacht in their 38m (125ft) Racing Line, a performance line that captures comfort, speed and racing ability. The sloop C.2130 is under construction at the Perini Navi Group's Picchiotti shipyard in La Spezia and will be delivered in the 2015.

Compared with her sister ship P2, hull C.2130 has been designed according to a brief for fast and easy sail handling through three semiautomatic electric captive winches. This sloop will have laminated sails and will have a carbon fibre furling boom for performance and safety in all conditions. The hull and superstructure will be built in Sealium, a light weight aluminium alloy that is highly resistant against corrosion. Her displacement is 160 tons while its GT is 171 tons. She will be able to compete at the highest level of competition with limited crew due to her deck hardware and layout.

For the first time a Perini Navi superyacht will feature a "Silent Night" system. This innovative system lets all on board systems run on batteries while the generators are off. When she is running in "Silent Night" mode guests can enjoy a full eight hours of complete silence.

She has a different interior layout compared with P2. The interiors are designed by the Perini Navi design department and have a sporty layout.

The Perini Navi Group has several other yachts under construction at their shipyards. The second yacht in their 60m (197ft) line, sloop C.2218, is due for delivery in 2014 and the first yacht in their 70m (230ft) line is due for delivery in 2015. The third yacht in their 60m (197ft) line can be ready for delivery within two years.

Perini Navi Deliver 60m Seahawk

The Perini Navi Group has just delivered "Seahawk", the first superyacht in their new generation of 60m (197ft) sailing yachts. With innovative hull lines and technological solutions, these superyachts guarantee speed and performance under sail along with even more volume and comfortable interior.

Seahawk has a sleek hull and superstructure in aluminium with a gross tonnage of under 500 GT and a displacement of 570 tons. The variable keel length allows for a draught that goes from 4.30 to 12.30m. The ketch, designed by the naval architects at Perini Navi in collaboration with New Zealander Ron Holland, has a total sail plan area of 2.125 sqm featuring two aluminium masts of 62 and 52m. The booms and spreaders are in carbon fibre as are the foils, head-stays and diagonals. And, for the first time on a Perini Navi ketch, carbon fibre has also been used for the standing rigging. On the foredeck a new generation of fully recessed furlers for the head sails has been created by the Perini Navi Mast Division which has also developed the new captive winches installed onboard which increase manoeuvring power and speed.

The interiors, that have been designed by the French designer Christian Liaigre, have an extremely elegant contemporary look with traditional maritime elements. The three principal areas on Seahawk’s main deck, dining room, living room and office are planned around a staircase, an element that unites the three levels. The lower deck has four en suite guest cabins and a full-beam owner’s suite which features two double beds placed diagonally across from each other and sliding walls that can be closed to divide the suite into two for charter use.

The Arrival of Hull C.2227

Project C.2227, the first in the new generation Perini Navi 70m (230ft) series has arrived in the Perini yard in La Spezia. SY C.2227 is the second largest superyacht in the Perini Navi fleet after the famous 88m (288ft) clipper, The Maltese Falcon.

Her aluminium hull and superstructure were constructed at Perini's Yildiz facility in Tuzla, Turkey. The fitting and furnishing will be done at the Group's Picchiotti shipyard in La Spezia where the she will also be delivered in 2015. She has been designed in house by the Perini Navi Technical and Design office with naval architecture consultation from Philippe Briand so you already know she's sure to have plenty of power and speed.

Her hull and superstructure will have a displacement of 912 tons and a gross tonnage of 850GT. The lifting keel is centralised and has a new shape that will give her speed and stability through the water. Her draft ranges from 4.54m (15ft) to 11.7m (38ft). She will have an innovative Perini Navi sail control system and her carbon fibre masts will measure 72m (236ft) and 62m (203ft).

Her interior will include a large open main saloon/gallery with living and dining areas. The lower deck will include four en suite guest cabins and a full beam owner's suite with his and hers bathrooms, an office and living areas as well as a VIP suite.

"The joy of seeing our new yachts is constantly increasing" says Franco Romani, Director of the Perini Navi Group's Technical and Design Office. "The lines of the new 70m are the result of working in synergy with the owner who has allowed us to preserve unmistakeable Perini Navi style while adding a modern twist. The owner's cultural background and his love for art have given the yacht an innovative touch. Briand's consultation on naval architecture and the sail plan have also contributed to assure performance."

Perini Navi Launch Flagship "Grace E"

Perini Navi Group have just launched their new 73m (239ft) Picchiotti flagship named "Grace E". She is the third megayacht sold by the Perini Navi Group at their Picchiotti yard in La Spezia, Italy. The other two beautifully designed Italian megayachts that have been launched by the La Spezia yard are the 50m (164ft) "Exuma" and the 55m (180ft) "Galileo G" in the Vitruvius series.

Grace E has the same hull and superstructure design elements that make the rest of the Picchiotti Vitruvius series stand out wherever they visit. She has an advanced diesel electric propulsion system with two Azipod propellers, which are electronically activated propellers that are mounted on a movable support called a pod. This allows her to reach a cruising speed of 16.5kts. Grace E is also equipped with a variety of tenders for the exploration.

Her exterior spaces are divided over five decks. The upper deck, also called the wellness deck, has an area that is entirely devoted to wellness with a gym, a sauna and hydrotherapy equipment. The contemporary interiors across all five decks have been designed by Remi Tessier.

She will be delivered by the end of the year.

Perini Navi Cup 2013 Overall

Sunshine and a light breeze helped the superyachts around the course on the final and decisive race of the fifth edition of the Perini Navi Cup. The event, organised by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda for superyachts produced buy the infamous Italian shipyard Perini Navi, saw victory go to the 50m (164ft) Silencio. Second place went to the 38m (124ft) performance cruising sloop P2 while the 53m (174ft) Parsifal IV claimed the final spot on the podium.

Silencio's owner was understandably delighted with the result of his first participation in the Cup: "We've got an amazing crew, an amazing spirit on board, thanks to the captain and the tactician Dawn Riley and all the crew we did a great job, but above all we had a lot of fun. Six months ago we had never raced and we were unlucky at the Bucket but now you are going to start hearing more about Silencio. This is the start of a love story between the Cup and us, I'm very proud of the crew."

The owner of P2 was pleased with his yacht's performance, commenting on his return to the docks: "It was a well-run and enjoyable regatta and I certainly appreciate Perini Navi's innovative spirit in building a fast, competitive boat."

Perini Navi Cup 2013: Day 1 Update

The magnificent fleet of Perini Navi yachts took to the waters off Porto Cervo today for the first day of racing of the Perini Navi Cup 2013. The fifth edition of the event, organized by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, is open to yachts designed and built by the renowned Italian shipyard and will run through to Saturday 31st August. The first race of the event was dominated on the water by the performance cruising sloop P2 which crossed the finish line with a comfortable lead while the 50m (164ft) Silencio went on to claim victory in corrected time.

Light winds of around 8kts kept the fleet moving along a coastal course of approximately 13 miles that saw them cross the starting line off Porto Cervo with a course set for the Secca Tre Monti rock. After rounding the rock the sailing superyachts headed upwind to round the Secca delle Bisce before racing to the finish off the Gulf of Pevero.

P2, a 38m (124ft) sloop stormed around the course well ahead of the other competitors. Captain Jonathan Kline was pleased with the P2’s performance and commented: "This is our first Perini Navi Cup with P2 and we found the conditions we expected, light winds but excellent for P2. We knew we would be able to pass most of the fleet in the first leg but then we would have to extend significantly to maintain the lead. I don’t know yet how we did, we finished quite far ahead of most of the boats but I don’t know if it was enough to take first place."

America’s Cup sailor Dawn Riley was pleased with the teamwork aboard Silencio, "We won today, well done to all! I am the tactician on board and the entire crew did really well today, they were perfect. This is my third Perini Navi Cup and you have to know how to sail these boats, everything is so big. The owner said he wanted to get just one podium finish so I guess we did that! I just hope we can keep it up now."

Third place went to the 52m (170ft) Tamsen, racing in the event with a crew of almost 60 friends and family members.

Perini Navi Step and Launch 60m Seahawk

Perini Navi have just stepped and launched Seahawk, the first superyacht in their new generation 60m (197ft) series at their yard in Viareggio. Seahawk has new innovative hull lines designed by the New Zealand designer Ron Holland and modern technology that will enhance her speed and performance through the water.

To enhance her performance even more her two aluminium masts measuring 62m (203ft) and 52m (170ft) have been fitted with a carbon rigging package from Future Fibres. This carbon package is some of the largest carbon rigging produced by Future Fibres to date and could be the start of a long relationship between the two companies.

On the foredeck she has new generation of furlers that are fully recessed for the furling of the head sails and have been created in-house by the Mast Division of Perini Navi which have also developed the new captive winches installed on board, increasing the manoeuvring speed.

Her contemporary interior has been designed by the famous French designer Christian Liaigre. The new series is moving along quickly at the Perini yard in Viareggio as they are currently working on their second. C.2218 is going to be a 60m (197ft) sloop with a carbon fibre mast measuring 75m (246ft), and is scheduled for delivery in 2014. The third in the series C.2232 will be another ketch just like Seahawk and will be delivered in 2015.

The order books are looking pretty full for the Perini Navi Group.

The 5th Edition Of The Perini Navi Cup

Perini Navi owners from around the world will be taking their superyachts to Porto Cervo in Sardinia for the fifth edition of the Perini Navi Cup which will take place from the 28th to the 31st of August 2013.

The event is organised in collaboration with the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda. This event is a must see for any yachting fan as its not every day you have more than 15 Perini Navi yachts beside one another on the dock. The event already has 18 yachts registered so the numbers can only get bigger. It will be run over three days and some of the yachts already registered include new 60m (197ft) model Seahawk, the 56m (184ft) Panthalassa, the latest 45m (148ft) Clan and the more racing styled 38m (124ft) P2. 

Perini Navi Turn The Hull Of New 70m

The aluminium hull number C.2227 is first superyacht in Perini Navi's new generation 70m (230ft) series and the second longest superyacht in the Perini Navi fleet after the 88m (288ft) clipper The Maltese Falcon, has just been turned at the Perini Istanbul-Yildiz shipyard in Turkey.

Franco Romani, Director of the Technical and Design Office at the Perini Navi was present at the turning operation, along with the whole staff of the shipyard. The momentous turning operation needed four cranes and only lasted for about 30 minutes, quite a short time for something so big don't you agree? Romani commented saying, "It was a thrill to see the lines and shapes that I had worked on finally come to life. It was a very special moment where I also was impressed not only by the hull's beauty but also by the high quality of the construction standards. I’m sure that this project is a real step forward in the evolution of design and technological innovation."

Her hull and superstructure are in aluminium which will make for a displacement of 912 tons and a gross tonnage of of approx. 850 grt. The keel will be retractable and varies from 4.54m to 11.7m. She will be a ketch with her two masts measuring 72m and 62m in height and will have a sail control system designed in house by Perini Navi. The whole project has be designed by the Perini Navi Technical and Design office with special consulting for the naval architecture and sail plan provided by the renowned Philippe Briand.

The interior layout was designed in house by Perini and decorated by the American design studio PH Design. It will have an open space main saloon that combines both living and dining areas. The lower deck will have four guest cabins, all en suite, and a full beam owner's suite with double baths and office and lounging areas. She is scheduled for delivery in 2015.

Perini Navi Set Up In China

The Perini Navi Group has its eyes set on the Asian superyacht market and have just open an office in China last week. The office is in the St. Regis Resort in Yalong Bay, Sanya on the island of Hainan. This area is already one of the most popular vacation spots for the wealthy Chinese and a reference point for the organisation of large events and conventions, so a prime spot for their new office.

Perini have also launched a new Chinese language version of their website www.perininavigroup.cn. "The inauguration in China," says Giancarlo Ragnetti, CEO of the Perini Navi Group, "is part of a specific strategy that aims at our expansion in new potential markets. We believe that Asia is one of the most interesting new markets so, to keep our company image strong, we feel that it is of fundamental importance to be physically present in the area."

The St. Regis Resort's facilities also include a port, the first and currently only superyacht marina in China. The Sanya Yalong Bay Yacht Club that has 187 berths of which over 50 are for yachts over 52m (170ft). There are also moorings for yachts of up to 76m (250ft) in length. The concept and design both of the marina and of the Sanya Yalong Bay Yacht Club are reinforced by Italian know how in the sector.

Perini Navi Launch 40m "State of Grace"

Perini Navi have just celebrated the  launching of 'State of Grace' their first yacht in their 40m (131ft) fast cruising series at their yard in Istanbul. Following the 88m (289ft) clipper The Maltese Falcon, she is the second superyacht to be constructed entirely at their yard in Istanbul.

State of Grace was designed in house by Perini Navi naval architects in collaboration with New Zealander Ron Holland. Both her hull and superstructure were constructed in aluminium, with just 220 tons displacement she is sure to perform brilliantly in all sailing conditions. Watch out superyacht Rolex regatta.

Her 1,192 sq m sail plan can be handled by just one person thanks to an innovative sail control system designed by Perini Navi and built by their Mast Division. She has a 50m (164ft) mast, furling boom and standing rigging all made with carbon fibre materials.

The main saloon spans over two levels and has a comfortable dining room and a spacious living area. Her four cabins, including a full beam owners suite with a gym, have innovative layouts and can accommodate up to nine guests.

The yard in Istanbul is currently working on the first yacht in the 70m (230ft) series, scheduled for 2015, while the third yacht in the 60m (197ft) series could be ready in the next two years.

Perini Navi's 60m Sloop Arrives in Viareggio

Hull number C.2218, the second hull in the new generation 60m sailing yacht series sold by Perini Navi, has arrived in Viareggio. Her hull and superstructure was built in aluminium at the Perini Istanbul Yildiz shipyard in Turkey, she has a displacement of approximately 570 tons and gross tonnage of under 500 GRT.

C.2218 has been designed by the naval architects at Perini Navi in collaboration with Irish resident designer, Ron Holland. She will have a Perini Navi designed sail control system and a lifting keel whose draft ranges from 4.40m (14ft) to 12.30m (40ft).

Her interior will be set up to accommodate up to 12 guests in five comfortable cabins including a full beam owner’s cabin and has been designed entirely by Perini’s in house interior designers. She will remain at Perini’s shipyard in Viareggio for fitting and outfitting up until the launch date which is scheduled for the first half of 2014.

Perini Navi Deliver 52nd Superyacht 'Enterprise'

This week Perini Navi handed the keys over to the owner of the 50m (164ft) ketch Enterprise. She was launched on the 2nd of April this year where she became Perini's 52nd Superyacht to join their ever expanding fleet of yachts. She was designed by Perini Navi’s in house naval architects in collaboration with New Zealander Ron Holland who lives in West Cork, Ireland.

Her sail plan, designed and built by the Perini Navi's Mast Department, totals over 1,400 square meters and is handled through 11 reel captive winches. The main and mizzen masts measure 56.7m and a 43m respectively, and are in aluminium while the furling boom and spreaders are in carbon fibre.

The hull has an aft opening that becomes a beach platform, where beach clubs are vastly becoming part of every Superyacht design. The 19ft main tender is stored under the fore deck in a flush tender well that also stores a catamaran that can be quickly rigged for day sailing. The superstructure has been completely redesigned with two large skylights in the roof.

Perini Navi Launch 30m Carbon Fibre Sloop 'Xnoi'

Perini Navi launched their newest yacht in a ceremony that took place last Saturday the 26th of May at their Picchiotti shipyard in La Spezia, Italy. She was christened Xnoi (pronounced-per noi, meaning 'for us') and measures 30.65m (100ft) in length. One of her great features is that her hull, superstructure, mast and boom are all constructed from carbon fibre, showing that Perini is meeting the change to carbon in today's yachting market. She was designed by Nauta Yacht Design’s Mario Pedol and Massimo Gino.

The Perini Navi Group: The Third Superyacht In The Vitruvius Series

The hull of the third Superyacht in Picchiotti's Vitruvius series C.2189, has just arrived at their yard in La Spezia, Italy from Istanbul, Turkey where she will begin her finishing and outfitting. She is 73m (246ft) in length and is the longest in the Vitruvius series, and has been created in collaboration with Vitruvius Ltd and the designer Philippe Briand.

She was created like MY Exuma 50m (164ft) and MY Galileo G 55m (180ft) before her, for those who want to cruise in comfort with safety and efficiency. This new generation of Superyacht has a characteristic hull and superstructure, a new concept for interior spaces and plenty of room dedicated to the storage of tenders and water toys.

She is the flagship of the Picchiotti Vitruvius family and will stay at the yard in La Spezia for outfitting until her delivery in 2013. She has a state of the art electric/Diesel propulsion system that runs two Azipods and has a maximum cruising speed of 16.5kts. She has 5 decks with the upper most deck called the wellness deck which is dedicated to relaxation and well-being, and is equipped with a gym, sauna and jacuzzi. Her interior has been designed by Remi Tessier.
