The Mighty Kismet
The mighty Kismet is set to take central stage at the Palm Beach International Boat Show which runs from March 21st - 24th, she will be the largest megayacht ever to be on display at the show.
She was built in 2007 by the Lurssen and measures 68m (223ft) in length. Her modern exterior lines were designed by Espen Oeino and her art deco inspired interior styling was from the creative minds of Reymond Langton Design. She can accommodate 12 guests comfortably in one master suite, one VIP suite and four guest cabins.
She is currently on sale for €79 million down from €85 million and if you are attending the show next week be sure to pay her a visit, she is quite an amazing megayacht.

Superyacht 'Stella Maris' Hits The Water

On Saturday the 23rd of June the Italian shipyard Viareggio Superyachts pre-launched their 72m (236ft) flagship 'Stella Maris' and a few weeks ago on the 27th July she was lowered into the water at the Italian Naval Arsenal in La Spezia . The success of their two previous 62m (203ft) yachts Candyscape II and RoMa catapulted VSY on to the international stage of Superyacht builders, and the stunning Stella Maris will take them even further in the industry.
Managing Director of VSY, Luciano Scaramuccia, crowns Stella Maris as the most important yacht of this size built in Viareggio over the last 30 years. One of her unique and innovative features is her internal layout which consists of split deck levels which creates great space and a ceiling height of 2.7m in places. This creative internal design was the work of designer Michela Reverberi. The guest accommodation is forward on the main deck where you can see the large hull windows and the owners accommodation occupies the whole upper deck.
She will cruise the Med with her excited owner until September when she will attend the Monaco Boat Show. She is sure to be the main attraction at the show.

MY Octopus Arrives in Hamburg
Octopus was built by lurssen in 2003 and is currently sits at number 14 in the worlds top 100 Superyachts. She measures a total length of 126m (414ft) and can reach a top speed of 20kts. Some features include 2 submarines, a basketball court, swimming pool, cinema and not one but two helipads. Her exterior was designed by Espen Oenio and designer Jonathan Quinn Barnett was responsible for her interior design. Her owner, Microsoft co founder Paul Allen uses this expedition yacht to her potential and travels the world, as she was spotted in the Maldives at the start of the year. She has also taken on the notorious North West Passage as well as many other great expeditions since her launch in 2003.

Sunrise Yachts Keep Signing New Contracts
Sunrise Yachts are going to be kept busy for the next few years after they just singed a contract to build a new 56m (184ft) diesel electric motor Megayacht, this is the second contract they have singed in the past 2 months. This innovative project identified as 561 is scheduled for a delivery in 2015 to an experienced South American yachtsman. The project was brokered by Fernando Nicholson of Camper & Nicholsons Miami and designed by Espen Oeino with interiors by Franck Darnet Design.The owner is a true lover of yachts and for the marine environment, and intends to devote more of his time to cruising his yacht around the world. She will be a long range yacht designed for circumnavigation in comfort that has a range of 5,000nm. She features indoor/outdoor spaces on the main deck and bridge deck with an abundance of natural light, it will also include a full fourth deck with a panoramic master suite aft and a large observation lounge forward (seen in the image above). A waterfall will cascade down from the bridge deck aft into a large swimming pool on the main deck, a splendid feature that guest will enjoy immensely on hot days.
The interior by Franck Darnet will be a contemporary casual style. Franck has previously worked with the shipyard on two 45m projects: MY Africa, delivered in 2009 and Project Sunset, with delivery scheduled in 2013.

Sunrise Yachts Signs Contract For Second 63m

The Antalya based yacht builder Sunrise Yachts just signed a new contract for their second 63m (206ft) project for a European client introduced by YMG Yacht Management Group Switzerland.
The new 63m project is based on the same hull as the 63m currently under construction at the shipyard. She will be one of the largest motor yachts ever built in Turkey at nearly 1,400 GRT. She will be one of the largest yachts in its length category and offers spectacular volumes while being able to access most marinas, a winning combination and a critical requirement for the owner.
She will be able to accommodate 12 guests in 6 cabins and have a crew of 18, she will have a maximum speed of 17kts and a range of 4,500nm at cruising speed. The Espen Oenio designed Megayacht will be delivered in 2014 and Mega Yacht Global will keep you up to date on the progress of the project.

Sunrise Yachts New 50m 'Bringing The Outside In'
You look at this new 50m (164ft) design from Sunrise Yachts and the first thing that crosses your mind is sitting in the upper deck with your favorite book, feeling the warm tropical breeze blow through from one side to the other. This new 50m brings the outside in, bringing the guests and owners closer to the sea and the sky. The full height windows, skylights and balconies that extend over the water create spaces where boundaries disappear between the luxury interior and the vast open outdoors.She has been designed by Espen Oenio one of the worlds leading yacht designers and is sure to cause a stir in the Superyacht industry with her innovative design when she is completed in 2013. Her light modern interior that adds to the open spacious feeling is designed by Franck Darnet Design and can be seen in the image below.
There will be two interior layout options that owners can choose from. Option 1 will have all of the accommodation on the main deck accommodating 10 guests including the owners in a full beam owners suite, 2 double suites and 2 twin suites. This arrangement allows the upper deck to be used for dining or relaxing in the upper saloon. In option 2 the upper deck is the owners private deck which will include the owners suite and private office area. The other guest accommodation will be forward on the main deck. This option will also include an infinity pool on the lower aft deck for cooling down in the hot sun.Sunrise yachts are building something special and we can't wait to see the finished yacht.

Hanseatic Marine Launches 77m 'Smeralda'
The stunning 77m (252ft) Smeralda was successfully launched on schedule on the 17th of March by her builder Hanseatic Marine. She is the largest Superyacht to be built in Australia to date and what a magnificent yacht to take that title.Smeralda is the third in the multiple award winning Silver Series design by Espen Oenio. With her distinctive lines and sleek profile she represents the latest Superyacht concept which marries high levels of speed and performance with an impressive long range cruising capabilities. She is equipped with more powerful engines than her sister yachts in the series, reaching a top speed of close to 30kts. This is quite impressive for a yacht of this size, and even more impressive is her 4,500nm rage at a speed of 18kts.
Smeralda boasts the highest level of Northern European luxury craftsmanship and outfitting. The Italian style contemporary interior was designed by Andreas Hoinburger of Vain Interiors in Germany and features American walnut paneling, high gloss lacquers, and custom finishes such as sculptured carpets, woven leathers and artisan stonework.
Some of her unique features are the helicopter pad, glass fronted deck jacuzzi, outdoor cinema, outdoor nightclub sound system, large forward gull wing doors which house the yachts inventory of water toys: 2x7.3m tenders, jet skis, and sea bobs as well as the expansive beach club which provides a day spa complete with saunarium.
She has very spacious VIP guest accommodation across 9 suites. The owners accommodation is an apartment that occupies the entire upper deck and features a private aft facing outside area that can be used for al fresco dining or relaxing in the sun.

Hermitage 223ft - Lurrsen & Espen Oenio Design
Hermitage was the 5th Yacht to be launched by the Lurrsen Yard in 2010. one of the other yachts launched in 2010 was Phoenix 2 285ft. Hermitage has features such as as a gym, a spa, and a beauty salon, also an elevator with a wrap around stairs in the center of the decks. A distinctive look with the yachts exterior design is the use of blue tinted glass. with her sharp looks and the blue tinted glass makes for a very stylish yacht. The beam of the boat is 13m so with lots of internal space for catering for her 12 guests and owners.
She is on her way to Antibes in France, go on to the Yacht tracker and see if she has arrived yet.

Serene 439ft - Espen Oenio Desgin

The recently (November 2010) launched MegaYacht Serene 439ft Designed by Espen Oenio and built by the Fincantieri shipyard, has been getting the last few sea trials finished off and the rest of the interior, before it is handed over to her new owners. The yacht has been through some major changes since it was launched in late 2010.

The most noticeable change is the hull color change from white to blue. This picture was taken in La Spezia in Italy on the 1 July 2011. You can clearly see the sleek and smooth designs from Espen Oenio, this yacht will be one to look out for and it will not pass without turning every ones heads twice.

The 3 Musketeers
The Three top names in MegaYacht Design will come to most of you not as a shock but as legends for the modern and artistic designs that they have produced over the years they have been in the yacht design industry.
We have Donald Starkey probably the most known of the three. Then we have Espen Oeino who has been at the top of his game for years. The final designer to form the 3 Musketeers of yacht design is Nuvolari Lenard with his sleek and sharp designs.
Donald Starkey has been designing some of the worlds most extravagant and well known yachts since the late 80s and over that time has gone on to win 26 design awards worldwide. This is why owners of yachts look to Donald Starkey for top class design in the interior and exterior of their yacht. one of his newest designs is the Westport 163ft Wabi Sabi, this yacht benefited from the interior design skills of Donald Starkey. Another yacht that Donald designed was the strong and bullish looks of the MegaYacht Luna 377ft built by Lloyd Werft and belongs to the growing fleet of MegaYachts owned by Roman Abramovich see the picture below.
Espen Oeino is a world renowned MegaYacht designer. He started his own design company in the early to mid 90s and has gone on to produce some of the leading yachts from the Lurssen shipyard. Some of his earlier yachts are the infamous Octopus 414ft owned by Microsoft guru Paul Allen and the sharp desgin of SKAT 233ft Lurrsen owned by Charles Simoyni another Microsoft guru.
Some of Espen Oeino's newest designs include CandyScape II 203ft from the Italian shipyard Viareggio and RoMa 203ft from Viareggio. See the picture below.
Nuvolari Lenard Design work alot with Oceanco shipyard and with Palmer Johnson. With these combination some of the worlds most elegant MegaYachts are produced. One of the wolds most famous yachts Alpha Nero 269ft Oceanco was designed by Nuvolari Lenard and the Palmer Johnson 130ft Hokulani. The newest design from Nuvolari Lenard is the newly launched Oceanco Seven Seas 282ft and was built under the yard name of Y706. this yacht will probably be seen around the Mediterranean this summer.
